My Porcupine 03:29
stickin' with me in bad weather stickin' with me whenever not like it's my decision I want an exorcism you want to get analytic? call it an inner critic pointedly parasitic jeering me, spearing me My porcupine poking in right on time Yes it's my porcupine friend and foe, rain and shine my porcupine every spine, pain sublime mine, all mine porcupine It’s gotta be making trouble tryin' to burst my bubble raising its cranky hackles making my life a battle you gotta admit it's sharp every illusion's popped so many starts get stopped no win with livin' with my porcupine…

Shine 04:47
The summer evening breeze is silk across my skin It's getting late but I don't feel like turning in Sometimes I think I've lived the whole day half asleep Is this contentment maybe priced a little steep? Is it just ego makes me want to leave a mark? or do I need to feed some fuel to a spark? sooner or later we're gone anyhow got something to do better do it now I've seen beyond the wall at moments, now and then but my illusions snapped back into place again we're so determined to have faith in the mundane questioning reality just seems a bit insane but there's no time to waste no space for what's not true and I'm not here to fear the message coming through sooner or later we're gone anyhow got something to do better do it now Light, shine on us now Light, shine on us now Light, shine on us, now, now, now I'm singing to myself the truth I need to hear my mind is cloudy and then other times quite clear and I'm surrounded by these miracles on feet I open for a moment, and then I'm in retreat but as I run away I'll say I wish you well, and if you have a dream, my friend, then what the hell sooner or later we're gone anyhow got something to do better do it now Light, shine on us now Light, shine on us now Light, shine on us, now, now, now

selling something, buy your freedom or something like it, zero sum to nothing caught in a game, rat man’s rules can you win it, can you be that cruel? inside out and over cast your spell you’re getting bolder inside out and over you’re sick of eating cold shoulder as the chessmen multiply pretty pieces lining up to die yes it’s a maze, rat man’s rules play an new game, drown this ship of fools inside out and over cast your spell you’re getting bolder inside out and over burning bridges, ashes smolder legerdemain, tricks and lies saving your skin, worth the compromise? cuz it’s a maze, rat man’s rules play a new game, drown this ship of fools inside out and over over and out

Molly always was a weird one but don't blame it on the drugs she said, the human brain is the biggest trip there is and you know it really bugs her when people say oh Van Gogh must have been eating mushrooms no it's just he had imagination even before he went crazy well, cigarettes and booze she would never use but when she puts on her dancing shoes green tea and LSD green tea, I see she does something with computers she does something with crafts she does something with her face that makes everybody laugh she's got a poem by Rilke tattooed on her arm she's got an open invitation to go and live on a farm she's got eyes in her head for lookin' around and her feet on a street called Shakedown green tea and LSD green tea, hoo-whee

hear the humming of machinery hands assembling some small novelty another long day in the factory work cheap, hourly hollywood is busy cranking formulas on which they're banking creativity is tanking so much wanking egos idolized children sexualized bullshit supersized the world commercialized gotta fuel our fossil engines trouble with complex dimensions middle east in endless tensions drunk on vengeance we are at an intersection more than ever, need direction but who's buying the election? whose connections? congress polarized values marketized rainforests pulverized the world commercialized egos idolized children sexualized bullshit supersized the world commercialized old friend, it's been so long since i've seen you hold my hand how've you been? i want to know what's on your mind dear friend, looking in your eyes, just for this moment, i need nothing more humans can be very clever we might learn to work together share our home in crazy weather make it better if we question all our chasing change the goal to which we're racing in the very center placing all-embracing love

Dream On It 04:28
hush little baby, don't you cry / when you're asleep i'll tell you why awesome and fierce the world you'll walk / where are the words to lull you by? i don't discount the power of mind / in the nick of time, a way to find by some grace to even learn / to use our strength to be wise and kind dream on it work for it oh, let it be tell you a secret, i don't feel brave / but we must walk the road we pave and if we plant a seed of storm / we'll have to ride a tidal wave dream little one, while your mother sings / grow up to love all living things so it may be that the sun will rise / on a better world shining in your eyes dream on it work for it oh, let it be dream on it work for it oh, let it be

in summertime the livin' is easy under a log or in some kind of hole but when the rain begins to fall the newts all hear the call they feel it in each slippery little soul they're steppin' out they will survive and they're glad to be alive yeah those newts go crossing South Park Drive in the hills of Berkeley well, sometimes homo sapiens look both ways before we cross and some will wait until the light turns green and some have glowing sneakers but these naked little creatures are not luminous, and not so easily seen they're steppin' out … etc. they're looking for love in all the right places in the streams and ponds they'll do that mating dance but there's a big road to cross on tiny little paws so let’s give those naked newts a fighting chance they're steppin' out … etc. they'll go truckin' cross the drive try their luck and cross the drive they will finally cross the drive in the hills of Berkeley
